Bought the Omni Deluxe Baby Carrier - Natural Linen after using a second hand Omni 360. Absolutely worth the extra money for the natural linen version. I used the other ergo baby carrier since my baby was a newborn, I literally live in it. While the second hand one was great it looked too ergonomical for me, but I love the back/lumbar support. The linen version is so much more aesthetic but with the same support. This version has hidden some of the buckles and straps and also has extra pockets which is great for keys, sunnies, wallet etc. I can even fit a nappy and wipes so tend to be able to take the carrier and leave the nappy bag at home. I’ve tried wraps, ring slings and other carrier brands but this one is by far the best I’ve used. Considering another baby just so that I can get maximum usage.

We absolutely love our Ergobaby mesh carrier. Both my husband and I use it everyday for our baby, both at home and when out and about. With our baby being our 2nd child the carrier has been a must have and this one has been comfortable, easy to put on and not felt too bulky. The pocket it comes with is very handy as well!

We love our ergo baby carrier because it is a safe place for our little girl to nap while we have our hands free. She is a skin time baby who only likes to nap while being held so this has been a game changer, saving us from becoming nap trapped at home while also supporting us getting out and about more easily. We find it is the best choice when we are concerned the pram won't do the trick. Can't commend it highly enough and only wish we had got it sooner!

This is an easy to use carrier, and my 2 month old is quite happy in it.
However… It is not as “cool” as it’s made out to be. He still gets very hot in this very easily, and we aren’t even in the hottest part of the year yet.
Also, the “pockets” are useless. They’re far too small to put anything in

I was hesitant at first to purchase this carrier due to price but Im so glad I listened to my intuitions. Worth every cent 🤑. My baby loved it so much. The material and quality overall is amazing. I can put my phone and car keys in the attached small bag at the front bottom. So easy to use after watching demonstrations on youtube because the manual guide provided seems confusing. I can easily now take my 8 months old daughter with me everywhere we go.
Would definitely recommend this to every mamas out there!

Hands free baby carry with a toddler

I had an older style ergo carrier that was handed down. Now that I have a newborn and a toddler I needed to be hands free so the attached zip bag was an influencing factor in me upgrading to the newer style. I can fit my keys, phone, 1 nappy and a small travel pack of baby wipes. I also easily breastfeed in the carrier.

Very easy to get baby in and out, washes well and much cooler over the summer months with the mesh.

I also have a baby who will ONLY sleep on me 100% of the time so this is very helpful for contact naps while caring for my 3 year old.

Do I need an infant insert to use it with a newborn?

No — this is one of the key upgrades of the Omni Deluxe over older carrier designs. The Omni Deluxe is newborn-ready starting at 3.2kgs with no infant insert needed. It features a patented adjustable bucket seat and adjustable back panel that support baby through changing stages, so the carrier adapts to your newborn's size from day one without any additional purchases or accessories. This removes a significant barrier that deterred many first-time parents from earlier carrier designs, where a separately purchased insert was required for the first several months. The carrier grows with your baby all the way to toddlerhood suitable from birth through to four years old, supporting 3.2kg to 20kg making it a single purchase that covers the full babywearing journey

What carry positions are available and when can I use each one?

The Omni Deluxe has four carrying positions: front carry inward facing, front carry outward facing, hip carry, and back carry. Each position has specific readiness guidelines based on your baby's development rather than just age. Front inward facing is available from 3.2kg and is the starting position for newborns. Front outward facing requires strong head and neck control and a minimum height of 63.5cm typically around 5–6 months with a minimum weight of 6.4kg. Hip carry and back carry both require baby to be able to sit upright unassisted, usually around 6 months, with a minimum weight of 7.8kg. For back carry, Ergobaby recommends practising the transfer with a doll or stuffed animal first to build muscle memory before attempting with your baby — a genuinely useful tip that makes the transition much smoother

Is it actually good for my baby's hips — and what does "hip-healthy" mean?

Hip health is one of the most important considerations when choosing a carrier, and the Omni Deluxe has been independently validated on this point. The International Hip Dysplasia Institute has recognised all Ergobaby carriers as hip-healthy, with the structured bucket seat supporting ergonomic alignment as baby grows. In practical terms, this means the adjustable bucket seat is designed to carry baby with knees even with or above the hips and a rounded spine — the child's pelvis is gently tipped forward so that the upper spine makes full contact with the parent's body, which supports the natural physiology of a baby's slightly rounded back. This "M-position" or "frog position" is the recommended posture for healthy hip socket development, particularly important in the early months before the hip joints have fully formed. Carriers that allow baby's legs to dangle straight down do not support this position and are not recognised as hip-healthy

Will it be comfortable for me to wear for extended periods?

For Australian conditions where temperatures regularly exceed 30°C and humidity is high in coastal cities — the SoftFlex Mesh is the most practical choice. The mesh version is the most breathable option in the Omni range, keeping both you and baby cooler and more comfortable during outdoor use, pram walks, and errands in warmer months. The cotton and linen options offer beautiful softness and are well suited to air-conditioned environments or cooler seasons, but in a country where outdoor babywearing happens year-round in the heat, the mesh is the version most Australian parents gravitate toward. What does it include, and can I breastfeed in it?

The Omni Deluxe includes a privacy hood, a detachable storage pouch, and lumbar support — the privacy hood serving double duty as sun protection during outdoor use and a nursing cover for breastfeeding on the go. All Omni carriers support breastfeeding in the carrier to do so, loosen the shoulder straps slightly and lower baby to breast height in the front inward facing position, using the hood for privacy if needed.
